Title & Topic:  “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” Theatrical Length Film Trailer


Talent showcased:  Audio Video Editing / Motion Graphics


Objective: To promote the film, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Highlights:


1. Used a looped motion background as an environmental layer in After Effects to provide


reflections on the 3D typography.


2. The music is synced to physical actions and comedic moments in the footage


3. A montage was employed to provide energy to the end of the segment.




Title & Topic: “DARK” TV Show Commercial


Talent showcased:  Cinematography / Motion Graphics


Objective:  To promote a new show on the SyFy network


Target Audience:   Young Adults


Highlights:


1. Masks were animated on the text to match the action of the cloud footage used in the


background


2. Smoke footage was used as both a transitional device and a background for the main title


3. An animated lighting effect was applied to the show title to create an eerie mood.

Title & Topic: “Become” Opening Title Sequence

Objective: Establish the aesthetics of and provide credit information for the film, "Become"

Target Audience:  Adults

Highlights:

1. Distressed Photoshop text layers were used to create the show title animation

2. A particle system was created out of blurred type on a looped track

3. A grid effect was used to generate the “old computer screen” look


Title & Topic: “Everything’s Better” Heinz Ketchup Ad

Objective: To promote Heinz ketchup using a humorous, light hearted approach

Highlights:


1. Food was shot using similar framing to create humors cuts later in the edit


2. Light and friendly music was used to go with the fun, relaxed feel of the piece.


3. Blending modes were used to provide a more saturated look to the food.


Title & Topic: “Open Happiness” Coca-Cola Ad


Talent showcased: Cinematography / Audio Video Editing


Objective: To promote Coca-Cola using humor

Highlights:


1. Separate shots were composited to create the “hand out of the tv” visual effect


2. A particle system combined with an animated mask was employed to reveal the catch phrase.


3. Color correction was added to compensate for the fluorescent lighting in certain shooting


locations.
